Atlanta Street Food Festival

Atlanta Atlanta Atlanta!  As always it was a pleasure.  A huge thanks to Tremayne McReynolds for the opportunity to be involved in the Atlanta Street Food Festival and my eldest nephew Jaiden for being a cool kid and getting involved in the family business. Little Rebelz can honestly say that every event we have attended thus far, we have been shown nothing but love.

Little Rebelz arrived at Piedmont Park on Friday June 10th to secure our
location and begin our set up.  Being our first time in Piedmont park we took the opportunity to bask in its beauty and its resemblance of Central Park in our home town, New York City.

Saturday July 11th rolled around and the Atlanta heat and sun was a force to be reckoned with.  We were blessed to be in a location with beautiful
gigantic trees granting us shade. The festival began at noon and the locals were on time.  The ambiance was set by music provided by Lethal Rhythms Atlanta Dj Party Truck playing an amazing mix of old school hip hop, rap, R&B and the latest hits.   There were tons of food trucks, a few live performers, games for children and local vendors.

The best part of our day/evening were our Little Rebelz.  Those that took a step in or simply walked by had the same responses. "So cute", "oh my god", "we love it".  It made us all warm and fuzzy inside.  Our merchandise was so well received that our accessories and select items are close to sold out!

Our Noble Set,"Chanel" Inspired mini bags, "Baroque" inspired sunnies, floral leggings and swimsuits were big hits! Stay tuned for our Mid Summer Sale!

For those that missed out on the event, Little Rebelz introduced a sneak peek of our Fall line!  Jackets, dresses, skirts, cardigans oh my. This is a season you won't want to miss. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified of upcoming events, sales and new item alerts!

A Little Rebel Turns 1

Our Rebel of the week goes to the First Lady of Little Rebelz, the one and only Logan Olivia. She's Sweetly spoiled, a joy to be around and a sight for sore eyes and the first girl on both sides of the family.

We are a week post my Little Rebelz first birthday and she never ceases to amaze me. Logan Olivia has been walking for 2 months now, she says hi in her ever so raspy voice and when I say no.... tries to run away.  She is, hands down the funniest person in my life. I experienced my first potty break watching fingers wiggle and reach through from the bottom of the bathroom door. Frightened pups beings chased with cooking spoons and attempting to climb on everything.  Although I get excited about what the future holds, its so hard for me to let go of my cuddly baby.

I'm not sure how it is for most moms but this being my first child, the first birthday jitters had me emotional a few months prior to the big day.  Watching a peanut grow into an amazing little person is such a mind blowing experience.  Before children were an option or a reality my husband and I always said we would have something very small and intimate for our children's first celebration of life.   Our friends and family always said we were crazy and knew we were sure to change our minds once the time came.... nope!  We were determined to stick to our guns.

A day before her actual birthday, Little Lola wasn't feeling too well and was diagnosed with a double ear and upper respiratory infection.  Did I mention she was teething? ANDDDD when she teethes it's 2-3 teeth at a time!  After seeking advice from fellow mommas, this all seemed too common around her age.  After a little Tylenol, prescribed antibiotics and my favorite invention ever..... The handy dandy Nose Frida, June 6, 2015 was on the couch; a quiet night; Just us 3.

Sunday afternoon was our first family zoo trip. Needless to say Logan was more interested in the kids running around and picking up every leaf she could get her hands on than she was the animals.  She walked, ran, was carried, sat in her stroller with her portable fan and vomited. Time to go. A pit stop at the grandparents and back home we went.  Always the procrastinators, we slipped the bakery some extra cash to bake a cake the same day and she had a whole cake to herself.  We sang Happy Birthday to our First Lady as she clapped and swayed. She tried to grab the candles, mushed the cake, even put her own face in it (that I failed to capture due to full storage on my iPhone) Once she seemed to have enough her father and I tag teamed her and she enjoyed her favorite pastime (bathing). Some milk mixed with baby food followed and she was out for the night.

I can't help but to think how blessed we are to carry children. Sure it does a number on our bodies, our hormones may go wild and we hibernate like bears, but it is worth it.  Share some of your Rebelz Birthday stories with us. We would love to hear from you! happy birthday Geminis!!!

Achievements

Little Rebelz are not only about personal style but the empowerment for little boys and girls, men and women everywhere.

As a Nursing graduate in August, 2009, I can tell you that working a full time job and being a full time nursing student was the most exhausting task ever!!! Nothing has changed in these past five plus years. Many nurses are overworked, understaffed, emotionally drained and will still tell you they absolutely love their job. Working with those in need is fulfilling and heartwarming. On any given day you will notice that God has placed you with that patient for a reason, to either change, or inspire  their life, lend a helping hand or receive inspiration from them.

I attended a pinning ceremony on 5/12/2015 for a dear friend of mine and it was a truly emotional experience. The first two to be pinned were brothers who were pinned by their mother. WHAT A TEAR JERKER! I'm definitely not the publicly emotional type, but this brought me to my knees.  Following these two men were students pinned by their husbands, wives, children and friends. How sweet! How
very sweet it is to have the ones who walked with you through your journey, held your hands in time of need and helped you push through guide you across that stage. The name of my good friend was called. She's one of the many people that have endured some of the hardest times in her academic career.  Her best friend and appointed pinner  experienced some bad luck with a flat tire on her way up from Sanford Florida; so I was honored to help her cross that stage. She was handed a single white rose, a lamp battery candle (in honor of Florence nightingale) and I was handed her pin. I have a fear of standing up in front of a forum of people and public speaking, but shaking like a salt shaker I managed to get her pin on correctly without dropping it. Whew!  After shedding a few tears, hugs and laughs we crossed the stage, she greeted her instructors and mentors then returned to her classmates as a college graduate.

Tishjauna Johnson, Tish or Philly as I call her is the mother of four Beautiful children, two of which are twins. When Tish started this journey she knew it would be far from easy. As a parent, your children require the most attention whether you're busy or not. (Seems like when you're not busy, they're the most quiet right) Nursing school was an awesome experience but it wasn't all peaches and cream. There were a few naysayers, times when she didn't know who could watch her kids, how she would get to class, a failed class and sleepless nights followed by exhausted mornings but with encouragement, determination and focus she made it through.  It takes a village to raise a child and it takes a team to build a nurse. With her team of Instructors, children, friends, family and peers, she made it. They made it.
Her story is truly an inspiration. No matter the circumstance, trials and tribulations, keep going.
These three quotes provided by the students were so memorable, encouraging and appropriate:

"What you are is gods gift to you, what you become is your gift to God."

"In order to succeed your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure."

"No one can make you feel inferior without your consent"

Atlanta Ultimate Women's Expo

During the period of time where Little Rebelz was just an idea, we had absolutely no clue the amount of work it would take to get it off the ground. In two months, I would like to think we've come a long way. With the second Women's Expo under our belt, we see nothing but a bright future.  The Ultimate Women's Expo in Atlanta was an absolute success. We were well received by so many people and are thrilled at the overwhelming positive responses.

The expos continue to be beneficial learning experiences allowing us to grow as a company, business partners and most of all... sisters.  I (Christina) work full time as an RN at St. Vincent's Medical center and while nursing is a great passion of mine, I have an overactive drive to be great.  I refuse to put my name on a project that I'm not giving 100%.  After working my 4th graveyard shift for the week, I arrived home at 8am where I packed my truck, picked up my daughter and high tailed to pick up my driver (my mother in law). My plan was to gain some Zzz Zzz on the road from Jacksonville, Fl to Atlanta Ga which was unsuccessful. My 11 month old and the love of my life decided she didn't want to be trapped in her car seat for 5 hours, so we laughed and played in the back seat while having adult conversations.

Arriving at the Georgia World Congress Center was somewhat of an adventure. With all the construction mixed with city traffic, we found ourselves lost several times.  When we finally arrived, I must say we were in awe. There were an overwhelming amount of booths ANDDDD, we would be showcasing our products for the same expo as well known celebrities.  The Atlanta Expo was definitely bigger than the previous one in Jacksonville.  We located our booth and got to work. The set up will forever be my favorite.  Organizing brings me back to my days of shopping for "back to school".  I would always be so excited to hang up my purchases and lay out my favorite pieces for the very first day of class. Then I caught myself Gazing at our booth, reflecting on how all this all started thinking to myself "yes! It's really happening"

Day 1. I always start my day nervous as can be with a touch of insecurity. What if no one likes our style? What if we don't sell?  After meeting the first few customers, the anxiety is gone and excitement takes control.  Unfortunately, we can't please everyone but we're not meant to.  Our mission is to reach as many families as possible, all the while offering a new look for those Rebelz whose sense of style can't seem to be understood.

Day 2.  After getting a feel for our customers, the Atlanta Expo became both more and less hectic.  By this time we knew our products were a hit and while this was an amazing feeling, Little Rebelz experienced waves of customers who all wanted a piece of a 10x10 booth. Meanwhile we were only two customer service representatives that also worked as sales and stock persons, cashiers and  baggers.  We found that we sold out of our smaller sizes rather quickly and zoned in on the items that were the most sought after.  At a quarter to 5 Sunday evening, an Expo staff member stopped by to give us packing and loading dock protocol followed by an announcement that was made to usher customers out the door. The customers who hadn't made their way all the way around were sad to see us packing up and many even made purchases despite the mess. Are you located in Atlanta? Do you have a storefront? Our answers to these popular questions prompted both exciting and not so great responses. We had some who were excited tthey could shop Little Rebelz from the comfort of their own Pjs.  Others, were disappointed they could not physically try on the apparel and accessories or bring their Little Rebelz to meet us.

Throughout this process we have met amazing entrepreneurs, both men and women. As a newborn company, they have all been kind enough to offer friendly advice for our areas of opportunity.  We're proud to say we are taking heed to all of their suggestions and constructive criticism and are in the process of revamping our website, product descriptions, our fall apparel and accessories and maybe even popping up in your city.  We encourage our faithful followers to reach out with suggestions pertaining to what you would like to see next season, sizes and oh so necessary items.

We look forward to visiting a town near you. Again, we are humbly thankful for all your valued support.
